Greetings From The Mayor Hello, I’m Jim, Mayor of the Beer Over Dirt Festival and President of the International Brotherhood of Grain Shovelers. Beginning in 2000, our festival has grown to become quite an event. It is now held every year on the weekend before Columbus Day and features an Oktoberfest theme. For now the event is a private party by invitation only, but stay tuned, we are planning for public version eventually. The festival features home-brewed beer, good food and live entertainment. This years party was held on Saturday, 3 October. The funds raised were used to cover the site rental, the food service and to pay the bands. $1500 was donated to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
